Featuring in season dark juicy cherries, this Cherry Mojito is fresh, cooling, wonderfully bubbly and naturally sweetened! It is perfect for a hot summer day.

Ingredients

  • 6 halved cherries , plus more for garnish
  • 6 mint leaves , plus more for garnish
  • ½ lime , cut into 4 wedges
  • Ice
  • ½ oz maple syrup
  • 1-2 oz white rum , or more to taste
  • 1 cup sparkling water

Recipe

  1. Step 1

Add cherries, mint leaves, and lime wedges to a glass.

  2. Step 2

Use a muddler to crush the cherries, mint leaves, and lime wedges to release their juices and flavors. Fill the glass up with ice.

  3. Step 3

Top with maple syrup, white rum, and sparkling water. Stir and garnish with halved cherries and fresh mint. Enjoy!

Common Questions & Swaps

  • Can I replace the cherries with another fruit? Yes absolutely. Fresh berries are my favorite in mojitos. So anything from strawberries to raspberries, blackberries or blueberries would be great in this recipe. One suggestion though, opt for ripe sweet berries as opposed to the more acidic ones.
  • Can I make this cocktail alcohol free? Totally, just omit the rum in this recipe.

  • I only have brown rum on hand, can I use that instead of the white rum? I am not a cocktail purist so I would say yes, but there might be other liquors that would work better.

  • How can I make this sugar free? Technically if you keep fruits in the cocktail, it cannot be 100% sugar free however, you can absolutely omit the maple syrup if you want the amount of sugar to me minimal or if you prefer sticking to more natural sugars.
