Well well well… it’s that time of the year where the internet is bombarded with holiday-inspired recipes. And you know what, I am jumping on the bandwagon.
I don’t know about you but I absolutely love the holidays. I love everything about them: the music, the Christmas lights, the time with loved ones, the long days watching movies and eating cookies all day, and of course the food!
Although the food aspect, can be a little overwhelming for me because I tend to be in charge of all the holiday planning, when I do manage to make everything that was planned and all the food tastes delicious, it is the best feeling of accomplishment!
This year, I wanted to share with you a little sneak peak of what my boyfriend and I’s Christmas menu will look like. It is quite elaborate, but because we don’t actually spend the holidays together (he is away with his family from the 23rd up until after New Years Day), I really want to make our celebratory meal memorable and as tasty as possible. So here it is:
Christmas Brunch:
Here, I was going for a little sweet and salty combination, a little bit of sweet from the maple sweetened bread pudding and a little bit of salt from the sausage patties.
Christmas Snacks:
These are cookies that I will have made prior to Christmas but that we will probably snack on throughout our Christmas celebration.
Christmas Dinner:
As you can see, there will be A LOT of food, but we will be out of the city for a few days so all of the leftovers will last us a good 2-3 days hahah.
You might wonder, why Murielle, are you sharing a holiday menu that does not even include the recipe of this very blogpost? Well 1) I have made this recipe 3 times in 2 weeks, so I want to not have it for 1 week so that 2) I can enjoy it with my family on Christmas Eve!
Yep, I will be making this whole roasted cauliflower for my family’s Christmas dinner… that must tell you just how tasty it must be, because I am very picky in terms of the recipes I recreate for loved ones.
This cauliflower is a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Honestly, when I had my first bite, I was quite shocked I was the one who actually put all those ingredients together! The combination of the delicate, almost lightly sweet cauliflower with the brightness of the garlic and the rosemary in the sauce, are just a match made in heaven.
