Elderflower Gin Fizz
Recipe created in the context of an Instagram partnership with Empress 1908 Gin.
I love seeking inspiration in nature to create new recipes. This drink specifically, was inspired by the slow unfolding of spring. It is the time of the year where nature feels like it is waking up: buds leave room for leaves to flourish, flowers pierce the ground, and animals that migrated south for the winter come back north to enjoy the warmer months.
This Elderflower Gin Fizz celebrates all the life that comes back in the spring.
It is refreshing, features wonderful floral notes thanks to the elderflower syrup, and of course, thanks to the color of Empress 1908 Gin, is vibrant in color, just like spring is.
When it comes to the ingredients used in this recipe, below are the ones I used.
Elderflower syrup: This sweet syrup is fruity and floral with subtle pear, lychee and tropical nuances. It pairs really well with the earthy tones and delicate aroma of gin.
Empress Gin: With its botanical notes and stunning color, this Canadian gin really brings spring to this fizzy cocktail.
Grapefruit sparkling water: It brings the fizz to this cocktail, while infusing a citrus flavor to it.
As you make this cocktail, I really encourage you to slow down the pouring of the sparkling water into your glass and observe the stunning purple hues spread and the bubbles float up to the top.
