Chocolate Peppermint Patties
Can you believe it is that time of the year already?
To me, it feels like just a few weeks ago we were stepping into 2020, excited about what this new year and new decade would bring to us!
Lo and behold, it was nothing like we had expected… So many traditions have been put aside or rethought. Many of us were not and are still not able to gather with our loved ones as much as we used to.
Through all these changes, one of the things that has kept me going is trying to preserve a few traditions. Culinary traditions to be more exact. On birthdays, I have still been baking cakes, even if I cannot share them with as many people as I would like. For Thanksgiving, Sam and I made a little feast for both of us and I intend to do the same for Christmas and the new year celebration.
One of my family traditions is to make lots of desserts during the holidays. We particularly love to make cookies! From gingerbread cookies to shortbreads, peanut butter cookies and much more, my mom and I are always super busy in the kitchen creating sweet delights! The best part about all this baking (apart from the desserts we get to enjoy!): my mom’s home always smells heavenly from all these delicious creations!
This brings us to these Chocolate Peppermint Patties. This recipe is one that both my boyfriend and my mom love. They are huge fans of the chocolate-peppermint combination and therefore, these patties are right up their alley!
What I personally love most about these: they are SO easy to make! Seriously!
They require only 6 ingredients, do not require any baking and are a total crowd pleaser. They taste so sophisticated with that delicious chewy filling and that glorious chocolate coating.
If you want to make them extra festive, simply garnish them with holiday-inspired sprinkles and you’ve got yourself a delicious plant based, gluten free holiday treat!
I really hope you try making these little patties yourself! They are a lovely holiday treat and people who love the chocolate peppermint combination will go crazy for them (especially if they also love coconut!).
